There are many ways to get involved and show support for our local communities, and one way Keller Williams Realty Wellington is giving back this year is by supporting Palm Beach School for Autism. As a realty group, our real estate professionals are dedicated to giving the best service to their clients while also helping serve their communities.

As you may have read on our last blog, our real estate company has put together The Culture Committee, which is involved with community growth, fundraisers, and programs. This March will mark our 12th year as sponsors for Autism Speaks in Palm Beach, Florida. The funds raised for autism awareness this year will go directly to the Palm Beach School for Autism.
After supporting Autism Speaks on a national level for over a decade, we made the collective decision to support locally again this year. Chair Adrienne Carruthers and Co-Chair Jenn Johnson of the Keller Williams Wellington Culture Committee usher the charge for this fantastic event each year.
Palm Beach School for Autism in Florida

Palm Beach School for Autism is a tuition-free public charter school serving children from age 3-21 throughout South Florida with an autism spectrum disorder. They address specific learning needs through individual instruction plans and a highly trained teaching staff focusing on independence.
A team of therapists is integrated into the daily programs on call at the Palm Beach School, including Speech and Language, Occupational, Physical and Behavioral therapists. In addition to academic education, the students are involved in the arts, foreign languages, technology, physical education, vocational programming, wood-shop, community-based instruction, social skills, and daily living skills.
The mission of Palm Beach School for Autism is to provide innovative education and behavioral support to empower individuals with autism. Their vision is for all individuals with autism to lead fulfilling lives.
The History of Palm Beach School for Autism

Back in 1996, one teacher and one assistant taught a classroom of six preschool children in St. Mary's Hospital. The program later developed into an entire school and increased due to a need for such programs in the community. The school's growth continued with the opening of the middle school program.

In 2012, the school moved into its third location, and shortly after that, a high school program opened. After investing years into educating such students, there was a need to prepare them for adulthood, and thus Project Next was born. Project Next is where the school provides on-site and community training through partnerships with local businesses.
The Project Next space on-campus features a training kitchen where trainees can learn what it's like working in a restaurant. There is also a mock hotel room and a commercial washer/dryer where trainees can learn about the hospitality industry.
Exit 8480: New Program Launching February 2022

Palm Beach School for Autism will be announcing the launch of a new program called Exit 8480. This unique program is an e-commerce gift box business founded by Palm Beach School for Autism, allowing student trainees to have more on-the-job training. Exit 8480 creates gift boxes for almost any special occasion, with local delivery available in South Florida.
Exit 8480 employs adults on the autism spectrum and allows the student trainees to learn what they love to do (and what they don't). If you would like to support Exit 8480, it's not too late! You may attend the launch at the Comedy Cocktails event on Friday, February 26th.
Taking place at the Wycliffe Golf Country Club, you may register for the silent auction and purchase event tickets here. The Comedy Cocktails event will feature a strolling dinner, open bar, hilarious comedy featuring comedian Myq Kaplan, auctions, and philanthropy. All the proceeds will benefit the job training program Exit 8480.
